Social Media Manager (Intern)
Own Debridger's company channels end to end — content calendar, writing, design, scheduling, community and reporting. Build the brand voice from the ground up.
About Debridger
Debridger is a technology-enabled workforce solutions and managed delivery company, helping businesses bridge talent and deliver results. We build the systems, partnerships and infrastructure that let businesses work effectively with distributed teams.
About the role
We are looking for a creative, consistent and self-directed Social Media Manager to take ownership of Debridger's company channels.
Our brand presence is early by design — there is a voice to establish, an audience to build and very little legacy to work around. You will not be slotting into someone else’s content machine; you will be deciding what we publish, how it sounds and where it goes.
The audience is two-sided, and that is what makes the role interesting: the businesses who hire through us, and the professionals who want to be placed. Good content here has to speak credibly to both.
This role covers the company brand. Content published under the Founder & CEO’s own name is handled separately by our Executive Assistant intern, and the two of you will coordinate so the company and founder voices reinforce each other rather than repeat each other.
What you will do
Content and publishing
- Own and maintain the company content calendar
- Write posts, captions and short-form copy in the Debridger voice
- Produce simple graphics and short video edits using Canva or similar
- Repurpose longer pieces — case studies, service pages, founder posts — into channel-native content
- Schedule and publish across LinkedIn, X, Instagram and any channel we add
- Keep each profile accurate and complete, down to the bio and link
Community and engagement
- Reply to comments, mentions and direct messages, and know when to escalate
- Engage with the accounts of clients, partners and prospective talent
- Monitor conversations around outsourcing, remote work and African talent, and flag what is worth joining
- Route genuine client or candidate enquiries to the right person quickly
Reporting and insight
- Track reach, engagement, follower growth and click-throughs to the site
- Report monthly on what performed and what did not, with a view on why
- Research competitors and comparable companies for format and positioning ideas
- Use what you learn to shape the next month of content, not just describe the last one
What we are looking for
- A strong writer — clear, specific, and free of filler
- Consistent, and able to hold a publishing rhythm without being chased
- Creative, with your own ideas about what is worth posting
- A good eye for design and layout
- Comfortable working independently and making calls on small things
- Organized enough to plan content weeks ahead
- Genuinely interested in brand, storytelling and audience
- Sound judgment about tone — you will be speaking as the company in public
You do not need agency experience or a large following of your own. A small body of work you can point to — posts, a page you grew, a project you wrote for — tells us more than a job title. Send what you have made.
